¿Por qué las obras de la naturaleza son tan perfectas? Porque cada una es un todo y porque trabaja bajo un plan eterno del que jamás se aparta; prepara en silencio los gérmenes de sus producciones, esboza en un acto único la forma primitiva de todo ser vivo, la desarrolla, la perfecciona por un movimiento contínuo y en un tiempo determinado. La obra asombra, pero lo que más debe sorprendernos es el sello divino que ahí resplandece. Por sí mismo, el espíritu humano no puede crear nada, no producirá sino después de haber sido fecundado por la experiencia y la meditación; sus conocimientos son los gérmenes de sus producciones, pero si imita a la naturaleza en su marcha y en su trabajo, si asciende por la contemplación a las verdades más sublimes, si las reúne, si las enlaza, si forma con ellas un todo, un sistema mediante la reflexión, establecerá, sobre cimientos inquebrantables, monumentos inmortales.

Why the works of the nature are so perfect? Because each is a whole and because it works under an eternal plan that never separates; it prepares in silence the germs of his productions, outlines in a unique act the primitive form that all alive being develop, it perfects it by a continuous movement and in a certain time. The work astonish, but what it must more surprise to us is the divine seal that shines there. By itself, the human spirit cannot create nothing, he will not produce but after to be fertilized by the experience and the meditation; his knowledge will be the germs of his productions, but if he imitates Nature in its path and work, if it ascends by the contemplation to the most sublime truths, if he reunites them, connects them, and forms with them a whole, a system by means of the reflection, he will establish unshakeable foundations, immortal monuments.
